Smugpress is a Free and Open Source Wordpress plugin which facilitates SmugMug photo integration into your posts, pages, and sidebar. This is my first Wordpress plugin so as a pedagogic exersize I included as many Wordpress features into the plugin that I could deem useful. Feel free to offer critic, criticisms, or questions.
Features:
- Random photo sidebar widget
- DB Cached Feed data including gallery and picture information.
- Easily insert SmugMug into your posts and pages.
- WYSIWYG post plugin.
Requirements:
Smugpress has been tested on Wordpress 2.2.*, 2.3.* and 2.5.
Change Log:
2007/03/02: (0.2.3) Added a couple fixes so SmugPress will work in blogs that don’t run out of the docroot. Also updated to work with IE 7.0.
2007/02/28: (0.2) SmugMug now requires Image and Gallery keys on all galleries, even public galleries. I’ve updated to code to support keys.
2007/02/25: (0.1) Inintial beta release.
Future Upgrades:
- Image Captions. Allow a user to add a caption to images inserted into posts or pages.
- SmugMug API integration. I originally wanted to write this plugin using SmugMug’s API exclusivly, but unfortunatly SmugMug isn’t issuing API keys right now! The big advantage here is that you could add non-listed images to your side.
- Photo Galleries and Image Indexes. Add the ability to insert SmugMug gallery and photo indexes into a page or post.
- Gallery Links. Add a quicktag to quickly and post plugin to easily add a link to a smugmug gallery.
- Photo Rollovers. Add cool rollover zoom for inline images.
- Automatic Cache Refresh. Add a feature to automatically refresh feed caches.
- Link to full size. Add an option to the picture insert to link the image to it’s full size version. Almost a cheap thumbnail solution.
- Image filters in the widget. I don’t like narrow photos in the sidebar, either add a image filter or a width argument to the sidebar display.
