About Me
So a little about me. My name is Bill French and I’m a geek. I’ve been playing with computers as long as I can remember and at 32 I now make my living with them. I don’t know if I would consider myself a guru in any field, but I do know a little bit about a lot with regard to technology. I have a BS in Computer Science from CSU Chico and am current employed as a senior software engineer. In my 9 to 5 life I tend to live in the web, Perl, AJAX, MySQL world and then once I get home I tend to tinker more with PHP, WordPress, and my SageTV setup.
Now I do have a less geeky side. I have a beautiful wife who always rarely complains about me spending money on various “project”. We have new son who is the joy of my life. Rounding out our family we have two dogs and a cat. It’s a full house. All I really have time for anymore outside of the family and work is softball a couple of nights a week.
About the Site
Grepsedia has been put together primarily as a warehouse for me to document some of the projects and techie stuff I work on. After over 20 some years as a geek I figured it was about time I wrote something down. If anyone else finds what I have to say at all helpful then all the better.
The name of the site is is a mashup of a couple of Unix power utilities, sed and grep. I couldn’t quite figure out how to fit awk in there. Maybe in my next blog!
